Leaving a gift to New Bridge befriending is a great way to ensure your support for a long time. By doing so, you will help us to bring light into the darkest places and support people in prison who are isolated and vulnerable.

When it comes to writing your will, we know that you will want to look after those you love first. But then do you think you might consider leaving something to New Bridge befriending as well.

Gifts left in wills can come in all shapes and sizes - ranging from £100 to £20,000, from 1% of an estate to 100%, or anything left over after others have been provided for. Sometimes people prefer to leave an item of value to their chosen charity.

Whatever you choose to leave, your donation will help us continue to befriend those need us most well into the future.

£100 will enable us to exchange letters with 5 people in prison over a year

£1000 will ensure that we can visit 20 people at least once

£25000 will pay for us to take befriending to people in 5 prisons where we aren’t already known

£50000 will help us to set up and run 2 new support groups for 2 years

If you would like to know more about leaving a legacy to New Bridge Befriending just get in touch with us and we’ll tell you more. (and the link will be to a contact form / email enquiry)

Giving in memory

Giving a gift in memory of someone you love or someone you know who supported New Befriending is a great way to honour their memory and help us to provide New Bridge befrienders where they are most needed.

  • You can make a donation in memory of someone via our website. Please complete our donation formand when asked what has prompted your donation select ‘donating in memory of someone’. (This will need to be checked out with R.IT)

  • You can create your own page to remember your loved one using JustGiving (will need a link and may need checking with R.IT). The New Bridge Foundations is registered with JustGiving who will automatically transfer the money to us so that you don’t have to. You can use your page to request donations instead of flowers, if you are taking part in a fundraising event, or to collect new donations and messages indefinitely

  • Organising an event in memory of someone you loved is a great way to celebrate their life and, at the same time, raise money to help others feel supported and cared about

  • Having a collection at someone’s funeral is an amazing way for you all to remember and celebrate their life and the money you collect will make a real difference
