2025 Annual Report

We are delighted to share our annual report, looking back at our work last year. We ended 2025 with 610 active befriendees, being supported by 350 volunteers – our highest ever numbers. We received applications from isolated people in prison every week, and were pleased that our work to recruit and train volunteers to keep pace with this demand was successful.

You can read the full report by clicking here.

Our befriendees wrote to us regularly to express their gratitude for the support of their volunteer, and what a difference their positive, non-judgemental contact had made. One person wrote: “my befriender has helped me to believe in myself and she has made me feel worthy. Without this support I’m not sure where I would be now. I can’t thank her enough”.

If you are interested in supporting our work then you could get involved in various ways:

  • Donate: help us meet our income targets so that we can manage the costs of growing
  • Fundraise: organise an activity or event to raise funds and awareness of work
  • Volunteer: sign up to become a befriender
  • Spread the word about our work
    • Recommend volunteering to friends
    • Speak to your employer about entering into a volunteering partnership at your workplace
